LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – A local gun range is giving history buffs and firearms enthusiasts a rare opportunity to fire historic weapons that played a role in World War I and II.

On Nov. 15, Hesseling Range will allow a select number of participants to shoot guns used on the battlefields of both world wars. The cost is $295, which covers ammunition. Participants will be assisted by a trained professional throughout the experience.

“It is the very first time in Allen County that you're going to be able to shoot full auto guns. So, we're calling it the Weapons of War experience. It is historical guns, and we call it the Guns that Won the Wars from the Trenches to Triumph. So you get an opportunity to shoot an M 1919, we have full auto AR, a full auto 9mm AR. Plus, we're going to go into some of the classic other guns as well, 9mm German Luger, and a 303 Enfield from Britain. So, a lot of classic guns, not all of them are full auto, but at least three of them are full auto, and everything is included in the experience,” said Gennifer Hesseling, marketing director of Hesseling Range & Gunsmiths.

Participants must register in advance to take part. Registration information is available on Hesseling Range’s social media pages. The event is strictly for shooters; spectators will not be allowed.
