LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Summer fun is in full swing for children across Lima, with the city’s parks program offering a variety of engaging activities to keep kids active and entertained.

On Tuesday, participants in the Lima Parks Playground Program took a field trip to 20th Century Lanes for a morning of bowling and camaraderie. Laughter echoed through the lanes as the kids showcased their unique bowling styles—some letting the ball roll slowly down the lane while others sent pins flying with enthusiasm. Sometimes the bowling ball may have been bigger than the bowler, but fun was had by all.

Kaiden Marshall shared his excitement: “I'm having fun and I'm playing bowling, and all you gotta do is just throw the ball and then hit the pins.”

Jayceon Roberts added, “I want to win, have fun and be supportive. I want to get the most points and get all the pins. Honestly.”

The Playground Program, designed to provide safe and enjoyable activities for youth during the summer, will wrap up next week. The final outings include a trip to Edgewood Skate Arena and a visit from representatives of the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum. As the summer break begins its final stretch, programs like these continue to offer area youth a place to play, learn, and build lasting memories.
