LIMA, OH (WLIO) – Have you ever asked yourself the question, “How can I make someone’s day a little brighter today?” John Battles has, and he has launched a global mission to ignite one million acts of kindness—starting right here in Lima.
After retiring, Battles began to notice people going out of their way to help others. That inspired him to create Doing AOK, which stands for “Acts of Kindness,” along with a website that tracks his goal of reaching one million good deeds. The platform also shares the stories of people taking time to improve someone else’s day.
“And that's what we're doing, is hoping that these stories will inspire you that, hey, there's kindness all around us. And we're sort of hoping people look at that and start to see all the different kind of things happening around them and acknowledge it. And we're hoping that that will inspire people to aspire to do the same, and hopefully it spreads like wildfire. Let's get the ball rolling right here from Lima, Ohio,” says John Battles, Founder, Doing AOK 25.
