LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A local 5-year-old has advanced to the quarterfinals of a national competition focused on nature and wildlife exploration.
Liam DeLong was first introduced in March when he began competing in the Junior Ranger Champion Competition, a contest designed to encourage children’s curiosity, confidence and love of the outdoors.
The competition is part of The Jeff Corwin Adventure and offers participants a chance to win $20,000 as well as an opportunity to go on an adventure with wildlife expert Jeff Corwin.
Liam, the son of Alison and Rob DeLong, has shown a strong interest in nature and outdoor exploration. He currently leads his age category in earlier rounds of the public voting competition but will need continued support to advance further.
Voting is based on public participation, with supporters able to cast one vote per day beginning Monday during the quarterfinal round by scanning the QR code below.
Family members say they are encouraging the community to continue supporting Liam as he progresses through the contest. Officials will continue to provide updates on his performance.
