LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Lima was among thousands of locations around the world that hosted a “No Kings” protest Saturday.
Protesters chanted and held up signs as they marched along Market Street to Town Square, voicing opposition to President Donald Trump and his administration.
The last “No Kings” protest in Lima was held in October, and hundreds again gathered to rally against a range of the president’s policies. Organizers said they were encouraged to see the community come together to make their voices heard.
“What we see is people in the administration ignoring the Constitution, not following due process, ignoring Congress when it's time to appropriate funds, ignoring Congress when it's time to make war. So, we are out here today to say America hasn't been run by a king since 1776 and we're not going to start now. We are patriotic. We are doing this because we love our country and we want to return it to what the framers intended it to be,” says Lisa Robeson, Lima, No Kings Protest
Organizers said millions of people participated in roughly 3,000 events across all 50 states and several major European countries.
