SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima Memorial Foundation held its annual golf outing to thank business partners and supporters.

This year marks the 34th outing, where approximately 200 golfers teed off in support of the foundation's mission to bring world-class health care to the community. The event included a variety of fun games and challenges on the course, such as longest drive, a family picture station, and "Tee It Forward," where teams could pay to move up for their drives. All funds raised go toward helping the foundation provide families with the best possible care.

Lima Memorial Foundation hosts annual golf outing to thank partners

This year marks the 34th outing, where approximately 200 golfers teed off in support of the foundation's mission to bring world-class health care to the community.

"We are proud to have our business partners join us today to help raise funds for this year's funding priority, which is diagnostic technology and making sure we have the most advanced equipment available to detect diseases or cancers at the earliest most treatable stage. So all of the money that is raised today and throughout the year for our foundation goes right back into the community and ensuring that they have local access to the very best care right here at home," said Lashae Burwell, director of the Lima Memorial Foundation.

"Being the only locally owned and controlled hospital in the community and stuff. It's great to have the community support, and we always like to give back to them by thanking them for everything they do. We can't thank them enough every time we do it. But today turned out to be a great day. We've been doing this for 34 years, so it's a great opportunity to continue to recognize them," said Mike Swick, CEO of Lima Memorial Health System.

In recent years, the foundation has contributed funds to support numerous programs and medical advancements.
