LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Lima Rotary Club President Craig Kupferberg discussed his plans for the upcoming year Monday afternoon.

The club held its first meeting under Kupferberg to discuss upcoming events and their goals for the coming year. Kupferberg took over for former President Russ Decker at the club's Changing of the Guard July 3.

The new president says he wants to model after Decker by leading through his service.

"I think he embodied a service leader, and I want to continue that. I want to be able to serve our committee chairs and the rest of our Rotarians in helping them be the kind of Rotarians they want to be and giving back to the community," said Kupferberg.

Lima Rotary Club hears from new president on yearly goals

The club held its first meeting under Kupferberg to discuss upcoming events and their goals for the coming year.

Kupferberg's plans for 2026 involve a heavy focus on youth organizations. He says he wants to focus on giving back to the youth and including Rotarians' families in their service.

"Young professionals today have a different approach to their work-life balance, and the home balance is much more of a priority than it has been for previous generations. So in order to be able to change with the times and meet people where they are, we want to make sure that we're allowing our Rotarians to value that time with their families," Kupferberg added.

Kupferberg says he wants to be remembered for making it easier for families to work with the rotary club and for making it more family-friendly.
