LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — For the past 20 years, the Walter C. Potts Entrepreneur Center has helped individuals with dreams of owning their own businesses take steps toward turning those ideas into reality.

The center was formed in 2006 to provide the tools needed to start and grow a business. Over the past two decades, the Potts Entrepreneur Center has offered education, technical assistance, and access to resources for both small and minority businesses throughout Lima and Allen County.

One of the primary topics the center focuses on is capital and understanding the steps required to obtain it.

“Funding resources is always a challenge for any small business, even if you have capital, you know you never have enough capital to really start and grow and continue to,” said Jessie Pope, director of the Potts Entrepreneur Center.

The Potts Center will celebrate the milestone during its annual meeting, which will also include fundraising efforts to help sustain the center’s ongoing mission.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center. Additional details are expected to be released soon.
