WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Auglaize County Fairgrounds will host the 174th county fair from Aug. 2 to Aug. 8.

The fair will celebrate America's 250th anniversary with its theme of "Freedom, Family, Red, White and Fair." organizers say the fairgrounds will be decorated with American flags and themed displays.

Alongside its regular attractions, the fair will feature a new "Youth Zone" with activities designed for younger fairgoers attendants.  Aug. 4 will be the fair's "FCA Youth Worship Night," which will include live worship, games, and a testimony from former Ohio State basketball player Aaron Craft.

Organizers said they added events to the fair to make it more accessible and enjoyable for younger fairgoers.

"The Youth Zone is a group of activities that we have set up this year that's a little bit different than what we've done in the past, and it's an area to specifically highlight young individuals at the fair to try to get them engaged and try to get them involved and excited about the county fair at a young age," said Kieran Fetter, general manager of the fair.

Fetter, a local of Auglaize county, said that the fair brings people from all kinds of backgrounds together, and is a one-of-a-kind event in the county.

"(This is) One of the only events that I'm aware of that really brings every corner of the county together and every age together, from kids to grandparents. Every kind of walk of life you will see here on the fairgrounds during the 174th Auglaize County Fair," Fetter added.

Information on the fair, including a day-by-day schedule, can be found at auglaizecountyfair.org. Free parking will be available on the east side of the fairgrounds near Deerbaugh Street.
