LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — As Earth Day approaches, two speakers shared their insights with Lima residents on maintaining a healthy planet while also exploring the connection between personal spirituality and the Earth.

Environmental activist Rae Neal discussed various tactics people can use to support both personal and planetary health. Neal emphasized the importance of environmentally conscious daily behaviors, especially when it comes to recycling and reducing waste. She also highlighted the role of political involvement when advocating for environmental policies.

The second speaker, Rolland Williston, also known as Rainbow Eagle, is a Native American from the Oklahoma Choctaw Nation. He holds the responsibility of an ancient Native American peace shield. During his presentation, Rainbow Eagle explored the teachings of Mother Earth and encouraged the public to reflect on inner attitudes that can help promote peace and harmony across the planet.

"The story that I'm going to be telling has to do with how we might recognize within us some adjustments that need to be made about our attitudes toward the environment and Mother Earth," says Rolland Williston (Rainbow Eagle), Speaker.

Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22.
