DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) - One Delphos resident celebrated a very special day on Tuesday!
April 1st is Flora Linton's birthday, but it's not just a typical birthday - Flora turned 100-years-old! To ring in her amazing milestone, Flora's family and the Meadows of Delphos threw her a surprise birthday party with a birthday cake and a giant card containing 100 signatures.
Born into a family of eight and growing up on farm in Ohio City, Flora married a farmer, having four children. She has 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
To ring in her amazing milestone, Flora's family and the Meadows of Delphos threw her a surprise birthday party with a birthday cake and a giant card containing 100 signatures.
At the party, Flora shared with us some of her wisdom about life.
"I went through the Depression era, everybody did at that time, and you learn through that a lot too - you know how to skimp a little bit on things," said Linton. "I've learned things every day. When you work, you find it doesn't always go smoothly, and your children don't always do what you would want them to, and that's about it. You just live with it and try to use good judgment."
