Nutrien Lima team wins Emergency Response competition

LIMA, Ohio – Nutrien is pleased to announce that its Lima Nitrogen team are the 2025 champions of Nutrien’s annual Nitrogen & Phosphate Emergency Response Competition. Held last week in Mobile, Alabama, the action-packed event, which brought together seven Nutrien emergency response teams from across the nation and Trinidad, saw fierce competition and showcased exceptional skills and teamwork. The competition, which also serves as a training event, tests teams in a variety of industrial emergency response scenarios including live fire, hazmat, medical care, confined space and high angle rescues. The Lima team earned the top honor with its outstanding performance and dedication to safety excellence.

The teams train year-round to ensure they are always prepared to respond effectively in the event of an emergency.

Neil Goodwin, Safety Specialist and Lima’s team coach, adds, “I am incredibly proud of the Lima team for their dedication and effort during training and at the competition, which ultimately led to our victory. The competition provided a valuable opportunity for us to test our skills, collaborate and learn – not only from each other, but also from other emergency response experts.” 

We congratulate the Lima team on this achievement and commend all event participants for their engagement and hard work ensuring safety in the workplace. Team members include Bruce Clayton, Sam Crish, Neil Goodwin, Austin Prowant, Ben Rowe, Chris Saeler, Alex Shaw and Adam Stechschulte.
