LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — One person is dead following a two-alarm fire on the west side of Lima Sunday morning.
Around 10 o’clock, Lima firefighters were called to the 500 block of W. Eureka St. for a house fire. The front half of the home, including the stairs to the second floor, was fully engulfed in flames.
One person was on the porch when the fire broke out, and another was trapped inside, and they died in the fire.
The name of the victim has not been released yet, but the Red Cross was called in to help the other person who lived in the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but fire officials say the home is a total loss.
