LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Ottawa Metro Park in Lima is now renting out kayaks for those who may not have them this upcoming season.
Around 3 years ago, the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park had a kayak launch installed at their Ottawa branch. Since this launch, organizers thought of ways to rent kayaks out. A business reached out to install a kayak rental to be available for Lima locals to use. Prices are 15 dollars for the first hour and 10 dollars every hour after.
"Shack's Yaks got a hold of me. They're out of Alexandria, Kentucky, and they somehow had found out that we do have a kayak launch, and asked if we'd be interested in kayak rentals, so after doing some research, it turned out that it would be a really good thing for us," says Brent Brinkman, director of operations, Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Parks.
