LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) -Â The volunteers at Our Daily Bread are doing their part to combat this week's heat.
The soup kitchen has seen an increase of visitors due to high temperatures outside. Our Daily Bread, as well as the Lima Public Library and Allen County Museum, serve as cooling centers that people can use to get out of the heat.
"We see an increase in numbers typically here when it starts to get hotter outside," said former volunteer Lamar King. "This is a good cooling station. They provide fresh cold water, beverage, food for the general public when it's these temperatures."
Our Daily Bread will be closed over the weekend in honor of the Fourth of July, and reopen on Monday.
