PERRY TOWNSHIP, ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) – Perry Township residents and trustees are voicing strong concerns about a potential chicken farm that could be built in the township.
It remains unclear how many chickens the facility would house or the total acreage it would cover. Perry Township Trustee Kevin Cox said the area of interest is east of Osman Road, just south of Wonnell Road, where signs of development are underway.

At Tuesday night’s Perry Township Trustee meeting, residents raised numerous concerns, including whether proper permits have been obtained; the potential impact on wells, storm and wastewater systems; property values; odor; and sanitation issues. Township trustees said they share those concerns.
“As a trustee, I try to look out for the whole township, and we really are concerned of with this gentleman or these people are trying to do. We don't want to run away business, but we don't want to have them disturbing our properties up here like this like they're doing right now,” says Kevin Cox, Perry Township Trustee.
Cox said Perry Township will continue investigating the issue, and the township’s attorney is now involved.
