LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Tat 2 U is putting endurance to the test today to support local schools.

The tattoo shop is hosting a charity challenge outside its storefront, where participants must keep one hand on a railing. The last person standing wins a $400 tattoo.

“There is no removing your hand from the rail. There are no restroom breaks,” said Lumpy Howden, owner of Awesome Tat 2 U.

Ten people signed up for the event, each donating $10 to compete. All money raised will go toward school lunch programs in Lima.

“I’ve definitely had a tattoo in mind for the past seven years. I’m ready to get started on it,” said participant Elizabeth Yeager.

Tat 2 U has held the endurance contest twice before — the last one went overnight.

“My sister was the champion seven years ago,” said participant Tera Reynolds. “Now, since she’s not here, I want to beat her record.”

Organizers say they'll be out there as long as it takes to crown a winner. Donations are still being accepted throughout the day.
