SHAWNEE TWP., Allen County, Ohio (WLIO) — Pennsylvania-based Wawa has opened its newest location in Shawnee Township.

Located on Breese Road just off Interstate 75, the company welcomed customers to its new travel center Thursday morning. Wawa operates more than 1,100 convenience stores, and around 1000 of them that offer gasoline, across 13 states and Washington, D.C., offering fuel options including gasoline, diesel and electric charging, along with made-to-order food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Shawnee Township site is one of only three Wawa travel centers currently open, joining locations in North Carolina and Indiana.

“So it's a little bit bigger than our standard store, about 8000 square feet, and we have amenities for local friends and neighbors, travelers and professional drivers, so things like our fuel court great food inside, and then for the professional drivers, we do have high speed diesel. We have a cat scale weigh station, we have truck parking, and then lots of amenities when you come in to purchase different things that you may need while you're on the road,” says Alyson Mucha, Public Relations Supervisor, Wawa, Inc.

The Shawnee Township location employs 50 associates and marks Wawa’s 12th store in Ohio.
