LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The West Ohio Food Bank is preparing for its largest food distribution event of the year at the Allen County Fairgrounds on Thursday, June 4.
The annual resource fair and food distribution will bring together area social service organizations and provide food assistance to families across the region. Organizers say no pre-registration is required to attend the event. Booths featuring local social service agencies will open at 9 a.m., offering information and assistance for a variety of community resources and programs. The food distribution will follow later in the day.
“We invite folks to line up. Get there maybe around 8 am or a little after. We'll do the resource fair with the many booths and organizations from around the area from 9 am to 11 am. Folks can then return to their vehicles in line and we'll move that line to the other part of the fair grounds and then do our largest food distribution between 11:30 am and 2 pm,” said Jason Aldrich, communications and public relations manager for the West Ohio Food Bank.
Aldrich said the organization is also seeking sponsors to participate in the resource fair and volunteers to assist with the food distribution. Those interested can contact the West Ohio Food Bank for more information.
