LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — It may be cold outside, but some local kids are making a splash during their break from school.
The Lima Community Aquatic Park is hosting a Winter Break Camp for children ages 4 to 13. The day camp gives kids time in the pool, along with crafts and other activities throughout the day. While participants have different swimming skill levels, the camp focuses on keeping kids together and encouraging bonding.

“We all stay together as a group, whether we're swimming, whether we're doing crafts, whether we're eating lunch, we all stay together as a group throughout the day. So, it's kind of something different from just going to the pool,” says Hillary Black, Lima Community Aquatic Park.
“I think it's a great place to bring everybody together to meet new friends. Lima needed something for the kids to do, and it's beautiful. It's fun, exciting,” says Brittni Burden, Lima Community Aquatic Park.
Registration is still available for the final day of the camp on New Year’s Eve, with a limit of 20 children. The camp runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $25 per day for the first child and $15 for each additional child. Lunch and snacks are provided. Registration link can be found here.
