LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — As part of Community Action Awareness Month, the West Ohio Community Action Partnership is hosting a diaper drive to help stock its Corner Store for local families in need.

The Corner Store is located in a small storage room at WOCAP and allows clients to spend “WOCAP Bucks” earned by completing required activities and programs. Officials say the diaper drive will help keep the shelves stocked with one of the most needed — and expensive — items for families with young children. In addition to helping families, the donations will also assist WOCAP in meeting federal funding requirements through in-kind contributions.

“One of the things that we're required to do is get in kind. In kind is a match, a federal match, that they want us to get the community involved in everything that we do for our families,” said Phyllis Montrose, child development services director. “So with a community member donates those diapers, we actually get to use that towards some of our in kind donation.”

Community members can drop off diaper donations at WOCAP during normal office hours.
