On Saturday Alter Ego Comics hosted its annual Halloween Comic Fest, an event that will help them prepare for a future project.
Families got the chance to pick out free comic books, purchase various items and participate in a costume contest. They could even donate to the West Ohio Food Bank.
Other area businesses also partnered with the comic store for this event. Alter Ego hopes to get rid of some inventory so they can have space for its legacy arts project. The comic book store will house Shop for Good, a coffee kiosk from The Meeting Place, and a small performance venue for Rustgaze records.
“We’re having the biggest sale we’ve ever had and that’s basically to make room for Rustic Records and the event space we’re going to have here at Alter Ego or the Legacy Arts building is what we’re calling it,” said Marc Bowker, Alter Ego Comics owner.
The project is estimated to be completed by the summer of next year.
