The woman accused of making the bomb threat at Lima Senior, had her initial appearance in court early Friday afternoon.
Amanda Hunt appeared before visiting Judge James Hoover, charged with a second degree felony of inducing panic. This charge comes from the March 27th bomb threat at Lima Senior. This charge could lead to a confinement of up to 8 years in prison and up to a $15,000 fine. Lima police stated the only priors they found on Hunt was for theft. They also asked for a high cash bond for the safety of the public.
Judge Hoover set a $150,000 cash bond with a ten percent privilege. She also cannot communicate with any school, and is not allowed to go on any school property. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 6th at 9:15 in the morning.
Assistant Lima Superintendent Jill Ackerman was in court Friday to watch the proceedings, and the question that is still out there that everyone wants answered, is why? Ackerman went on to say that the school hopes Hunt is brought to justice, and that the students are relieved that school can get back to business as usual.
