It was packed the first day at the American Association of University Women's book fair inside the old AutoZone on Elida Road. There were close to 90,000 books to choose from. They range in price from 50 cents to $4. These books have been collected all summer long. The money raised will go towards scholarships for female high school students and camps for middle school girls.

“We feel like girls need money for the education,” said Sue Ann Shaw, the book fair co-chair. “We’re really a proponent of education. That’s one of the things that AAUW stands for is excellence in education. So this is something that we feel is very important.”

The fair will be open from open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from 10 to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Books will be half-priced on Thursday and there will be $3 bags and $5 boxes on Friday and Saturday.
