Learning to live in the moment was a project at the Heir Force Academy school on Friday.
The director of programming of the Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts working with 7th and 8th graders on theatre methodology. Last year the school presented the musical “The Weight of Words” based on Lovewell’s techniques. The students were enjoying the theatre game to help them live in the moment.
J.J. Parkey, Director of programming with Lovewell adds, “Theatre is all about being present in the moment. It’s about reacting realistically with what the given circumstances are and I think that’s something so great about a theatre game is that you get out of your head, and you have to be alive in that moment.”
Seven students will be participating in a two-week workshop with Lovewell in Columbus this summer.
