The Area Agency on Aging 3 is holding its first-ever book drive. They are collecting new and gently used books for adults and kids. The kids' books will be donated to schools that take part in their retired senior volunteer program. However, the adult books will be used to create a library in the new training center that the agency is putting in.
The books can be dropped off at the Area Agency on Aging 3.
"We wanted to create the lending library to help older adults, persons with disabilities, and their caregivers to have resources available to them from books that are dedicated to information or just entertainment purposes and those kinds of things. And for the Retired Senior Volunteer program, we thought it would be a great way to give our volunteers resources when they do go out and to the mentoring and literacy program and read to the kids," says Jolene Molaski, Dir. of Marketing & Communications.
The books can be dropped off at the Area Agency on Aging, which is located just east of Tom Ahl at 2423 Allentown Road in Lima, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
