"As Neil Knew It," the new marker standing at the corner of Main Street and Willipie Street by the fire station, was dedicated Friday afternoon after help from the Wapakoneta Fire Department installing it.

"For example, behind us, we have the fire station. We love our 1885 fire station, but for many years, it also housed the city building on the 2nd floor and Neil's dad worked there. And the courthouse is on it, Neil's grandfather was a county commissioner. We have the drugstore where he worked to earn money for flying lessons," explained the director of the Auglaize County Historical Society, Rachel Barber.

On Saturday at 11 am, at 102 Main Street in Buckland, the historical society will unveil another marker on the locomotive history in the village, as well as the story of an agent-operator, Katie Dicks, who worked at the Buckland Depot.
