CRIDERSVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) - A whole lot of people, Jeeps, and food. That’s what you’d find in Cridersville as the Volunteer Fire Department held their 5th Annual Food Truck Festival and Jeep Invasion.
Started a half-decade ago with only four food trucks, the festival has grown to feature more than 30, offering everything from coffee to lobster. One of the main attractions, the Jeep Invasion, was added a couple of years ago, lining the streets with colorful, duck-littered Jeeps that all had a chance at taking home Best in Show. This fundraiser allows the fire department to give back to the community while raising some funds for the station.
"Basically it'll go for ground improvements here at the station. Any equipment that we don't receive from grants or from taxpayers dollars, and it's just extra for us to help provide services that we do," said Chief Rick Miller with the Cridersville Fire Department.
This festival is a kickoff for the fire department, which will also host its 60th Firemen's Jamboree July 10th through the 12th.
