ST. MARYS, Ohio (WLIO) - The St. Mary’s Riders got a blast from the past at their Rider Rewind event.
Held in the St. Mary’s Theatre, the Rider Rewind event showcased a recorded basketball game from 1981. With this game having the biggest crowd yet, it was nostalgic to look back to the good ol’ days. Not only could tickets be bought to watch this, but some of the basketball players, and even the coaches, were there to bring their input about the plays. There was even 80s culture and movie clips to get the crowd immersed with the time setting.
"It gives a chance to reminisce, reconnect with some old teammates and friends, and just enjoy an evening of entertainment," says Kelly Jay, retired teacher and coach at St. Mary's.
Not only was this event to re live simpler times, but it brought foot traffic into the newly renovated theatre. This is the second rider rewind they have showcased, and they hope to see many more in the future.
