NEW KNOXVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) — New Knoxville is holding its annual Independence Day celebration.

The community picnic, a long-standing tradition held on the last weekend of June, features food vendors, games, live music, and family activities. The event raises thousands of dollars each year to support improvements to the community park.

The event raises thousands of dollars each year to support improvements to the community park.

“We try to incorporate different activities for kids to do, especially the younger ones,” said Matthew Stetler, vice president of the New Knoxville Park Board. “We have kids’ tents with blow-ups and inflatables for them to enjoy while the parents can socialize and enjoy the weekend as well.”

In past years, the money raised has helped fund the community splash pad. The park's next goal is to build an all-abilities playground.
