SHELBY COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) — A Sidney woman was killed Friday morning after being hit by a semi while walking near the roadway.

According to troopers from the Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, just after 5:30 a.m., a semi driven by David Pachin, 71, was traveling east on Campbell Road in Sidney when he struck -old Anna Nation, 66, who was walking along the roadway.
Nation was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

Piqua – The Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single-vehicle fatal pedestrian crash. The crash occurred on March 28, 2025, at approximately 5:37, a.m., on Campbell Road east of Stolle Avenue in the City of Sidney, Shelby County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a white Volvo semi-tractor, operated by David Pachin,71, Lewisburg, was traveling eastbound on Campbell Road when it struck a pedestrian, identified as Anna Nation, 66, Sidney, in the roadway.
Nation was transported by ground ambulance to Wilson Memorial Hospital where she later succumbed to her fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
Pachin claimed no injuries as a result of the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Sidney Police Department, Sidney Fire and EMS Department, Shelby County Coroner’s Office, and Wreckers Towing & Transport LLC.
The crash remains under investigation at this time by the Piqua Post.
