CRIDERSVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) - An up-and-coming social media star made a special stop at the Cridersville Library today as part of their summer reading program.
Meet PJ Llama — he’s 14 years old and enjoys traveling and meeting new people. PJ lives at the Crazy Fiber Farm near Botkins with his family, which includes two other llamas, five alpacas, 15 dairy goats, a donkey, three ducks, and an unknown number of chickens.
PJ has his own Facebook and Instagram pages where his adventures are shared as he makes appearances across the area. His handler, Laurie Gerstner, says they enjoy taking PJ out into the community to help people learn more about their farm.
"We are so far removed from the agricultural industry, and this is one way of giving back to the community and slightly educating in a fun way, in a non-threatening way, and we get to meet new people and see new things," said Gerstner.
The Crazy Fiber Farm harvests the wool from PJ and his siblings, which is then spun into yarn. PJ gets his annual haircut once a year. Children at the library had fun getting to know PJ and learning about life on the farm.
