WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO)— Each Saturday from May through October, downtown Wapakoneta turns into a hub of local vendors and shoppers.

The Wapakoneta Farmers Market wraps around the courthouse square, featuring tables filled with fresh produce, baked goods, handmade crafts — even a stand that sharpens tools.

Wapakoneta farmers market brings community together

The farmers market takes place downtown every Saturday morning through October.

“The community just loves it because it gives time for connection,” said Wapakoneta Mayor Dan Lee. “It’s great to come down and buy the wares, but it’s also great to check on your neighbor. I mean, we just had a storm come through, and people are saying, ‘How did your house do?’ ‘Did you lose any shingles?’ So it’s not just about the market — it’s about the community that comes together in the market.”

Emily Liles, owner of E. Ann Baking Co., said the market is also about building relationships.

“I love to see the local community and having repeat customers and really building a bond with them. It’s a great experience to have,” she said.

The farmers market takes place downtown every Saturday morning through October, giving visitors a weekly opportunity to shop small and support local businesses.
