COLUMBUS, OH (WLIO) - An Ohio state representative wants to make flag planting at Ohio State University stadium illegal.

Bill introduced to ban flag planting at OSU Stadium on game days

An Ohio state representative wants to make flag planting at Ohio State University stadium illegal.

Republican Representative Josh Williams from Lucas County introduced the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act. The bill is looking to prohibit the planting of a flagpole and flag in the center of the Ohio Stadium football field on the day of a college football game. This is in response to Michigan players trying to plant their flag following their victory against the Buckeyes on November 30th. The action led to a fight between the players and $100,000 fines for both Michigan and Ohio State.

With days left in the session, the chances of it getting any traction are slim, because if any legislation doesn't get passed this year, it will have to be reintroduced in the next session.
