LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The weather was perfect Friday evening for car enthusiasts to show off their sweet rides for two good causes!
Buckeye Cruisers hosted a special Friday Night Cruise at Central District Lima in downtown Friday evening, with a variety of muscle, sports, and historical cars out for display. The cruise-in was all for two good causes in Allen County: raising funds via donations and a 50-50 raffle to benefit the Allen County Veterans Food Pantry and Deb's Dogs. Donations of food and pet supplies were also welcomed. Organizers say the event is all about community and supporting one another.
"This event is open to the public, but all these car guys are just real nice people, car guys and gals, and they got a heart of gold. They love animals, dogs, cats, and a lot of these guys are veterans. They like helping the cause," says John Gross, Head Member with Buckeye Cruisers.
If you were unable to attend Friday night, more car shows are coming up soon. The Buckeye Cruisers will continue their "Car and Bike Cruise-In" at the Buffalo Wild Wings Lima location every Friday night from 5 to 8 p.m. 15% of food sales as well as funds collected via the 50-50 raffle will be donated to the Allen County Veterans Food Pantry and Deb's Dogs. These car shows go through the entire summer.
