LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The City of Lima is gearing up for its GenNext Makers Summer Camp.
With the success of last year's camp, organizers are expanding the camp. This year, they will be partnering with Rhodes State, OSU Lima, the University of Northwestern Ohio, and several local manufacturers. The participating kids will get an inside and hands-on look at STEM careers right here in Lima-Allen County.
"But it's not as much like worksheets and filling out. It's going to be more engaging opportunities, and seeing what is that next after middle school, after high school. How do we get to the job and career that we want?" stated Amber Martin, coordinator of Lima's Department of Workforce and Small Business Development.
The camp is open to students ages 10 to 13 years old. There is no charge for the camp that will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 15th through 18th at the Bradfield Community Center.
