DELPHOS, OH (WLIO) - Delphos families and visitors now have a great interactive activity they can do while at Stadium Park. The Delphos Public Library officially opened its story walk!Â
They've been working on this project for a couple of years, raising the money and getting sponsorships to build 20 different stations along the sidewalks at the park. The first book for the story walk is "In the Tall, Tall Grass," and along with reading the book at each station, there are other activities that families can do together.
"Yeah, we are really excited about it. The whole thing is child and parent togetherness. Kind of enforcing literacy and fun at the same time. So, they can walk and talk and get a little education. There are little prompts like frog hop to the next one, count how many leaves you find to the next one, so it's just encouraging parents to talk and read with their children," says Rachel Strahm, Youth Services Librarian at the Delphos Public Library.Â
Strahm says they will be rotating the stories every three months. The next book will be "The Bear Snores On," which library officials think will be perfect for kids as they head into fall. Delphos Stadium Park is located at 1101 N Jefferson Street, Delphos, OH 45833.
