Dog training for officers

The Northwest Ohio Dog Warden Association hosted a dog training, Thursday.

The training was offered to officers who normally deal with animals and dogs. During the class the instructor shows officers how to handle dogs under stressful situations and how to read their bodies.

President of the Northwest Ohio Dog Warden Association, Rodney Cook says learning when it's okay to shoot and when they shouldn't shoot could help save a lot of dogs in the long run.

Cook says 13 counties were represented at the dog training.Â
