LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The City of Lima is reminding property owners that they are responsible for removing snow and ice from their sidewalks after a snow event.
Sidewalks are the only way some people have to get around the city and they can't do that if they are covered with snow and ice. By city ordinance, you have 4 hours after precipitation stops or after the first daylight.
"It's a safety feature. It's important that people are walking and we want to keep them safe," explained Andri Beach Perkins, City of Lima Housing & Neighborhoods director.
For ice, sand and ice melt are ways to take care of it.
