Flames Engulf Barn on Hume Road

Weather conditions may have played a factor in a fast burning fire earlier Tuesday.

Flames engulfed a barn around 5:30 pm, Tuesday afternoon at 460 E. Hume Rd. in Lima. With a strong breeze from the west gusting as high as 23mph at one point, once the fire was started it could not be stopped. First to respond to the blaze was the Perry Township Fire Department.

Assistant Fire Chief of the Perry Township Fire Department, Justin Roberts says the structure was ruled as a total loss.

While no one was injured, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
