Several area schools helping to provide food to local non-profits as part of their yearly "Food Fight" competition.

A check representing more than 2,200 cans of food was presented Monday by Lima Temple Christian School. They are the winner of the HCF Management sponsored "Food Fight" event. It pits schools against each other to see who can collect the most food and monetary donations to help others. Temple Christian took the class versus class approach to collect cans.

"We actually made it into a pie in the face contest so we pit two classes against each other, seniors versus juniors and so on, and a teacher represented each class. And the class that lost ended up getting their representing teacher pied in the face by the opposing teacher. So it was a good way of getting the whole school involved. It's something the National Honor Society enjoys," explained Anna Acklin, National Honor Society President.

This isn't the first time Temple Christian has won as they took top honors back in 2017 as well. Apollo Career Center also participated this year collecting just over 1,100 cans of food for Family Promise of Lima Allen County.
