LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - After this heavy storm, many homes are facing damage, luckily for Lima, there are programs to help.
The Neighbors Helping Neighbors program, created by Sixth Ward Lima City Councilman Derry glen, connects people who cannot afford critical home repairs to people willing to help. These services include roofing, windows, furnace issues, and steps. This program has helped many throughout different natural disasters and is continuing to aid those who need it.
"First, get her roof done. She is going to work hard to try and get it done too. We are going to work with her on it. And our programs for the city. We are going to see, do we have more money in those programs," says Derry Glenn, Lima 6th Ward City Councilman.
The owner of the house that this program helped with was able to share her story.
"He got a couple guys to come over here and put a tarp on my roof until I can do better, until I can do better. But the Lord will make a way for you to get it done," says Kathie Dunlap, a resident who received aid from Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
This program is not limited to those who reside in the sixth ward, but all over Lima and surrounding areas. Glenn adds to not be afraid to ask for help. For home repairs or to donate to this program, contact Derry Glenn by calling (419)-905-9572
