Women over 40 will have the opportunity to receive free health screenings and mammograms this Friday.
The screenings are part of Allen County Public Health's Breast and Cervical Cancer project and will provide physicals and mammograms for women over 40. Those participating can opt out of the physical and have only the mammogram at one of the Lima hospitals if they would like. Women are encouraged to check on their own health to be their for others in their lives.
"It's important because they have a lot of people that rely on them, we always take care of everyone else first, and it's time for us to take care of ourselves, because if we're not healthy, then we can't do a good job in our husbands', children's, or even parents' lives,"said Jan Huckeriede, Breast and Cervical Cancer Coordinator.
The free screenings will be on March 31st from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 525 Eastown Road. There are still times available and those interested can contact Jan Huckeriede at (419) 224-4500 to find out what appointment times are available.
