ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - An Allen County murder suspect met before a judge for an arraignment today.
31-year-old Gervens Justilien appeared in court Friday for his arraignment for a murder charge back in March. He was captured by the Rhode Island United States Marshals Service on March 29, 2024.Â
On March 25, 2024, Justilien was charged with murder for the death of 26-year-old Christland Auguste. She was found dead at a home on Makley Drive from strangulation and blunt force trauma. Both Auguste and Justilien are from Haiti. Sheriff's officials say that Auguste has been in the United States since October 2022 and was granted a temporary employment authorization card while she waited for an asylum hearing.
Bond was set for Justilien today at 5 million dollars, and he has been ordered to have no contact with Auguste's family. Justilien will have a preliminary hearing on Monday, June 10th.
