Murder suspect Gervens Justilien captured in Rhode Island

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - An Allen County murder suspect was captured Friday afternoon in Rhode Island.

Sheriff's officials say 31-year-old Gervens Justilien was captured by the Rhode Island U.S. Marshals Service at 1 p.m. on Friday. Justilien has been charged with murder for the death of 26-year-old Christlande Auguste. She was found dead on March 10th at a home on Makley Drive in American Township from strangulation and blunt force trauma.

Justilien is only charged with murder, but additional charges could come later. He will remain in Rhode Island until an extradition is ordered to bring him back to Allen County.

Media Release from Allen County Sheriff's Office: We are pleased to inform you that Gervens Justilien was captured at approximately 1:00 PM this afternoon (3-29-2024) in Providence, Rhode Island. He was taken into custody following an extensive investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau and the Northern District of Ohio U.S. Marshals Service – Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. He was ultimately captured by the District of Rhode Island U.S. Marshals Service and will be held in Rhode Island until extradition is ordered. Gervens is currently charged with a single count of murder at this time but additional charges are possible.
