HARDIN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) — An ambulance was struck head-on by a minivan in Hardin County early Tuesday morning.

Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Findlay Post said one person was flown to a Toledo hospital, while three others were transported to Lima-area hospitals following the crash.

The collision happened just before 4 a.m. near the Allen-Hardin county line on State Route 309. Troopers said the minivan crossed left of center and struck the ambulance.

All occupants involved in the crash had to be extricated from their vehicles. The driver of the minivan was flown to Saint Vincent Hospital in Toledo.

The driver, patient and medic in the ambulance were transported to Lima Memorial Hospital and Mercy Health–St. Rita’s Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation.
