LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - According to the Ohio Secretary of State’s office, as of Sunday, there have been nearly 1.5 million Ohioans who did early in person voting since October 8th.

It was a busy day at the Allen County Board of Elections on the final day of early voting

Joining the voters was a group organized by The Lima Area Black Ministerial Alliance as they held a “Souls to the Polls” Sunday afternoon.

But that number could jump a lot higher on the final day of early voting as boards of elections, like Allen County, saw long lines of people ready to cast their ballots. Joining the voters was a group organized by The Lima Area Black Ministerial Alliance as they held a “Souls to the Polls” Sunday afternoon. The event not only promoted the importance of voting but also unity as the group walked to the board of elections to vote.

“It makes us feel really good. We are excited; they’re excited. We are excited about Tuesday. We are excited about today. That’s why we come out today to organize and to go, walk down to the board of elections, and cast our ballots,” says Rev. Cleven Jones of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and VP of LABMA.

Sunday was the final day for early voting, so if you missed your chance, you could still vote at your polling location on election day on Tuesday.

“The great way to show there is no division, that we are unified in unity together as Christian brothers and sisters. God is in control, and all we have to do is lean and depend on him, and everything will be alright,” says Dr. Arthur Butler, Providence Missionary Baptist Church & Pres. of LABMA.

Sunday was the final day for early voting, so if you missed your chance, you could still vote at your polling location on election day on Tuesday, starting at 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. If you need to know where your polling location is, you can log on to www.VoteOhio.gov.
