The event has been a hit within the Lima community, with attendance being consistent throughout the past several weeks. Wednesday's event focused on the level of influence that hip-hop music has on the younger audience.
"We appreciate the community coming out. We appreciate the support. We appreciate the interest. These are those tough discussions that we have to have in order to build our community better in order to better equip our professionals, and even more importantly, our parents. Really give everyone the best information possible on how to build and celebrate young people while still even holding them accountable so that they can grow and be productive, safe adults," told CEO, Jenga Corportation, Emmanuel Curtis.
Guest Speaker Alfred "Coach" Powell added, "It's critical because if things are misinterpreted or if it becomes their belief and they try to act it out, then we have a critical situation in our communities. We're trying to get young people to discern and learn how to pick it a part. There's no stopping them from listening to it, but you have to really discern that message; what does that mean and how will it impact you?"
