ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Ten local township officials were sworn into office on Thursday.
After winning votes from their respective districts in this year's election, they met with Allen County Judge Terri Kohlrieser at the courthouse to take their oaths of office. There were four fiscal officers sworn in along with six trustees. One of the newly elected trustees was Lisa Fillhart of Bath Township. Fillhart is the first female trustee in the history of Bath Township and knows the importance of her new role in the community.
"It's an honor actually to be taking on this position. I was raised and stayed in Bath township. Had my child in Bath Township and own the fire department. And I feel like it's a big honor to serve the public. And I think I'll have a new perspective. Maybe a different perspective on things coming from all different avenues. I think that economic development is very important. I think that residential construction is important. I think bringing our township together as a community again is important. Communication needs to be paramount really from the very beginning so that we all kinda get on the same page," said Lisa Fillhart, Bath Township Trustee.
The township officials will begin their new term in office on January 1, 2024.
