LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Downtown Lima leaders spent Thursday morning learning a new skill as they prepared for the upcoming summer season at the Greater Lima Region Amphitheater.
Members of the Lima Festival and Amphitheater Alliance assembled a new multipurpose tent on the amphitheater grounds. The organization purchased the tent to provide additional space for activities and gatherings throughout the summer.
Lima Festival and Amphitheater Alliance leaders said the tent will serve several purposes during events, including providing shade, beverage service, networking opportunities and a gathering area for donors and guests.
“We were fortunate enough with the fundraising that we have done we've been able to purchase our own tent. So this will be up for the whole season this year. It provides shade, a place to buy beverages, is will have stand up tables for people to gather. Kind of a VIP area too so people that were donors at a higher level will have a place where they can network, hang out, enjoy beverages, enjoy the shade, and enjoy summer all summer long,” said Tracie Sanchez Vice President of the Lima Festival and Amphitheater Alliance.
The summer concert season at the Greater Lima Region Amphitheater will begin Friday, May 15, with a free community concert featuring Shucking Bubba Deluxe. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the concert begins at 6 p.m.
